Tips for trips
Our campsite is situated on the holiday road between Lyon and the Provence - an ideal location for a quiet relaxing break in the sun, away from the hustle and bustle of it all, in the mild climate of the Rhône valley.
In addition, there are many interesting destinations and attractions to discover in the vicinity:
- Only fifty yards from the campsite: the Varilles park, a large 22-acre natural park with fitness trail, picnic area and children's playgrounds.
- You are in the Roussillon county, the birthplace of New Year's Day: in 1564, king Charles IX promulgated at Roussillon the edict decreeing that the year would henceforth begin on January 1st in France.
- You are 40 miles (70 km) south of the magnificent city of Lyon, a UNESCO world heritage city.
- You are near the vineyards of Côtes-du-Rhône (Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, Crozes-Hermitage etc.).
- You are a few short miles from Vienne and its world-famous "Jazz à Vienne" festival, held every summer in the roman amphitheater.
- Opposite Vienne, on the right bank of the Rhône, lies the major gallo-roman site of Saint-Romain-en-Gal with its magnificent museum.
- You are 37 miles (60 km) from the Postman Cheval's ideal palace in Hauterives.
- You are near the Pilat Regional Natural Park, the Peaugres Safari Park, the Choranche caves, the Vercors Regional Natural Park…
